Patio

But first...our lawn is starting to look pretty good. We are counting down the days that we can actually enjoy it! Only one more week left.

Ryan's been working on the patio the last couple of days. We decided to do a stone patio right off the deck. He and the boys, and my brother Adam worked hard on it and it is completed. I LOVE it! Now I just have to set up my patio furniture! What do you think?

Next summer we're going to put a fountain and some flowers in that little corner plot!

Wicked

About a week ago Devon and I went to see Wicked in Calgary. It was everything I thought and wanted it to be! I love everything about broadway...that its done live, the stage, the props, the music...its just magic! The hardest part is not being able to belt out the songs along with the actor's! It was very well done and I loved every minute of it! Even the C-train ride there and back. Good times friend, good times!

ps. my nose looks extremely big in the above pic. I hope its just the camera, not my nose swelling to keep up with the swelling in my hands and feet...lol!! Only 4 weeks left!

Ready for Paintballin

I LOVE this little boy!

New Love

This girl is in love...

She followed Ryan's aunt's dog around while we were camping. She loved him. Too bad her mean..or maybe smart, Mama will never get her one of her own.

Sod Party

We have grass in our backyard! Yeah! Now we just have to keep watering it, can't walk on it for a couple of weeks, and we'll see if it takes. Finger's are crossed. We had a bunch of family and friends over to help lay it. It only took like a half an hour and then we fed everyone pizza. It was lots of fun and we're grateful to those who came to help us out! It's lookin good so far, but there is a big hump in the middle of the yard. The guy who came to level it before we put sod down didn't do a very good job. Not much we could do about it...so there's a hump. I'm trying really hard not to dwell on it. I'm sure the kids will love it. Here are some pics:

Next we are building a shed, and a patio. We'll keep you updated with the progress.

Oh, and I'll show you a picture of the grass when it takes and starts to look good! Finger's crossed!

Horseshoe Bend

After all our Canada Day festivities, we packed up my Grandparents trailer and headed out to Horseshoe Bend to do some camping. The camp spot is actually on my in-laws land just outside of Cardston. They have a nice little camping area, with camp kitchen, swingsets, sandbox, big firepit, and a nice little creek that runs through it. It is very beautiful! The best part about it is my in-laws house is only a 2 minute drive away! McKenna and I slept over at their place while the boys slept in the trailer. We spent the weekend with Roy and Connie fishing, quading, playing in the creek, and just enjoying the beautiful weather while we visited. The kids had a blast playing on the swings and in the sandbox. We roasted wiener's and s'mores Saturday night, and just had a perfect little weekend getaway. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but here's a few for you to enjoy!

Canada Day

For as long as I can remember...we've been celebrating Canada Day in Raymond at my Grandma Shurtz's house. It is definitely my second favorite holiday to celebrate. Second to Christmas of course. It is so fun to pass this tradition on to my children and watch them play with all their cousin's like we did when we were young. This year we even started a new tradition. My aunt rented an astro-jump for the afternoon and it was a huge hit. So much, that I think it will be something we do every year from now on. It was a great day as usual!

I'm also grateful to live in this beautiful Country. It may not be perfect, but I think its pretty darn good. We have so many opportunities here. Sure makes me thankful. Hope you all enjoyed your Canada Day!

Park Lake

We went to Park Lake yesterday. It was cloudy and overcast, and windy, but still warm. The kids had so much fun and I relaxed. It felt great and we're looking forward to this summer. Because the sun wasn't out much we failed to think much about sunscreen. Big mistake. We're all a little crispy, but in the end, it was worth it! And I think we've learned our lesson!
