Thursday morning we packed up and headed to Calgary for a few days.
Our first stop...
THE CALGARY ZOO!
The kids had so much fun looking at the animals. Although the boys favorite thing was the playground and of course the dinosaur park! (McKenna slept through that part!)
Friday morning we headed to Butterfield Acres. Its this great farm/petting zoo where you can go in the pens with most of the animals. they have all sorts of stations set up and handmade playgrounds. You can also learn how to milk a goat, go for a pony ride, and a tractor ride. The kids had a blast and were a lot braver then I thought when it came to petting the animals. It was a really, really hot day so we didn't stay too long. But we did get to go on a tractor ride. The kids loved the baby goats and the bunnies. They also loved playing in the huge sandbox. I think that was McKenna's favorite part. I think she's going to be more like her Daddy then the boys when it comes to the sandbox!
Friday afternoon we went to the Southland Leisure Center. They have a fantastic wave pool and water slides! Very good for young kids. The boys loved the little water park and the two water slides they had for little kids. They were even brave enough to try the two bigger one's with Mommy and Daddy. They had the best kiddie pool I've ever been to. It was shallow enough for McKenna to walk around and even sit in some places, and it was very, very warm. McKenna spent all her time there and absolutely loved it! She went on one of the slides with Mommy but didn't like it too much. They weren't really into the wave pool this time. Maybe when they get a bit older. Sadly I forgot my camera, so no pics of our water fun. I went shopping Friday evening. I love shopping in Calgary and found lots of cute things for the kids.
The kids loved hanging out in the hotel. Every time we'd pull up after one of our adventures Ty would say "we're home". They didn't want to leave, but Saturday morning we packed up and headed home. We had such a great time but its always the best to come home!
