Knock, knock!

The kids are really into telling knock, knock jokes. They get the process, but of course none of their jokes actually make sense. Half the time we can't even understand what McKenna is saying but it must be pretty hilarious because she laughs like crazy after she's done telling it! We've told them a few that we know and they think we're pretty funny. Well the other day Nate came to us with this one: Knock, knock who's there? Wah Wah who? Don't get too excited, its just a joke! We couldn't believe it! We were so amazed that he came up with that one all on his own. So much that we've been bragging to everyone about how brilliant our child is and made him tell everyone and anyone who was around to listen. Well, yesterday he brings down his Nate book that he got from his birthday and show's us the joke written in there. We laughed. I guess we should have asked him where he got the joke from instead of assuming he made it up himself. I guess he's not the brilliant joke creator that we thought he was...but he did teach himself to read and is reading novels! That's pretty brilliant to me!
