Calgary Temple

On Monday we went to the Calgary Temple open house. We took the all the kids, and then went with Roy, Connie, and Ginger. It was a little chilly and had to wait in line outside for probably 15 minutes. Luckily they had a place inside where you could wait with small children. We watched an introduction video at the church next door, and then headed into the temple for the tour. The temple was beautiful! We all really enjoyed walking through, well except Nate. I'm not sure I know any 7 year old who cries almost the whole way through a temple tour. It started in the room at the church where we were watching the movie. He started getting anxious and kept asking if the doors were locked. I assured him we were not locked in and could leave at anytime. When we got into the temple he got really nervous and kept thinking we were locked in there. It didn't help that we were in small spaces with a group of people we didn't know. It just freaked him out and he clung to me and cried through most of the tour. He finally calmed down when it was almost over. Poor boy. I assured him we weren't locked in there, but told him if there was any place to get locked in, the temple would be the absolute best. Not sure he agreed. Hayley was a gem the whole time. Afterwards we went back to the church for water and cookies. It was a really amazing experience. I've only ever been into the Cardston temple, so it was neat to see another one. Ryan and I will have to go do a session there sometime.

It was cold and raining on the drive there

Oh, and remember how I mentioned that Hayley has been getting her molars and has been cranky for two weeks. Well she woke up Monday morning and was her normal happy self all.day. It is so nice to have her back! Missed her. What a blessing. We wouldn't have enjoyed the day as much with a cranky baby.
