WARNING: This post may not be for the weak stomached. Only for those tough Mommy tummies!
This morning Ty was complaining about a sore tummy. He was tooting a lot so I told him he might need to go to the bathroom. He did, but his tummy was still sore. I told him after we drove Nate to school he could lay down and watch a movie. Nate's school is all the way on the North side, so its a good 15 minute drive from our house. About 3/4 of the way there IT happend...Ty threw up EVERYWHERE! And alot. Nate was screaming "Eww. Eww." and I just hoped his weak stomach and sensitivity to smells would not send him in the same direction as Ty. Its so hard to watch your baby spewing and there is nothing you can do. Absolutely nothing. We were driving on Scenic Drive and there was no where to pull over, not that there was anything I could do if I could pull over. I tried to comfort Ty with words through the whole ordeal. We made it to Nate's school, got him out of the van in one piece. And then I sped home as fast as I legally could. Poor Ty had to sit there in his puke for a good 20 minutes, and the smell wasn't pleasant for the rest of us either. On the drive home Ty's little voice said "Mommy, I just don't want this to be a bad day". My heart ached. We never want our kids to have bad days. We know there inevitable and we can't protect them from everything, but it sure is awful to watch. We made it home, got Ty in the bath, cleaned out the van, washed the car seat, and threw his clothes and jacket in the wash. Well Ty, things are starting to look up. Maybe this won't be such a bad day after all!
**note to self: when your child says their tummy is bothering them and you have to drive somewhere, bring a bucket, just in case.
