Tomorrow is a big day for me. I guess its an even bigger day for McKenna. Tomorrow we send the boys to Cardston for the weekend, and McKenna and I will stay home and I'm going to teach her how to use the potty. We are going to camp out by the potty and won't leave until she's mastered it. Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but if I don't put a couple of days aside where I can completely focus on helping her do this, its really hard for me to do it. I let Nate take the reigns with his potty training and he wasn't completely potty trained until after he was four. With Ty I did what I'm planning to do with McKenna and sent everybody away for the weekend so we could focus on using the potty, and it worked beautifully. So hopefully McKenna takes to it as well as Ty. We all know our kids do things differently. So wish me luck, and maybe McKenna could use some luck too! And as I get ready to embark on this next stage of McKenna's life, I could use a little advice from my Mama...

"Ginger has been terrible with her potty training lately. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I have tried everything and am losing the battle and my patience. Just when I think I can’t take any more, she puts a chubby little hand on each of my cheeks and says, “I’m sorry, Mommy. I’ll try harder next time.” She feels things so deeply and knows when I am sad. I have to remind myself that the problem is worse for her than for me. Poor little thing."

"Ginger slept with me last night and she wet the bed. Mom says that I just have to love her through it and not punish her, but its’ so hard not to get angry."

"Ginger was bad for wetting today. Once she even wet in her little hockey helmet. She looked so pleased with herself I didn’t have the heart to scold her. I just took her hand and we marched into the bathroom and deposited it into the proper receptacle. I hope she got the message."
(me again). So patience, patience, and a lot of LOVE! Thanks Mom!
