Orlando- Day 1!

Ryan and I were lucky enough to be able to have a little getaway this past weekend. We went to Orlando for 3 full days of Universal fun! Our families pulled together to take care of the kids. We are so lucky to have them and it is nice to be able to go away and know that our kids are being loved and cared for. Because there is a lot to talk about, I'll be doing a post for one day at a time. So here's to day one...our first day of traveling...

We headed out to Cardston after Ryan finished work on Wednesday and dropped the kids off, then we headed to okotoks to my Dad's to stay over night seeing how our flight left at 7:15am, which means we were supposed to be at the airport by 5:30am. It was an early, early morning but we made to the airport and through custom's with no problems and were on our way to Chicago. We had a couple of hours in Chicago and then were on our way to Orlando. I actually love flying. I have no fears or worries when I fly, even when there is some turbulence. It is safer then driving you know.

It was about 7:00pm when we landed, got our luggage, and rented our car, so we headed to our hotel which was on International Drive. Its a street known for its night life. We checked in and then walked down International Drive a few blocks to Chili's for dinner. International drive had lots of little shops and things to do. There was this little amusement park with one of those slingshot rides. Ryan really wanted to do it but they cost too much, so we had to pass it by. There was this guy on the street holding a little crocodile trying to get people to touch it. No Thanks. Those things are so creepy looking. They had little swamp cages at a few places with baby crocs in them. There was also lots of little shops selling Disney souveniers and cheaper tickets to the Parks. We were headed to Universal in the morning so we went straight to bed when we got back to the hotel. I was like a little kid at Christmas. I just couldn't wait to get to the Harry Potter park.
