Mama's Journal

Its been awhile since I've posted anything from my Mom's journals. Since I'm lucky enough to spend my days with my little kiddies, I thought I would post a few fun little things about my siblings when they were little. Make sure you write about the fun things your kids do and say. They are definitely worth recording so you can remember them. My Mom's memories always put a smile on my face.

DEC, 29 1978

"Not much going on today. The kids and I just sort of lazed around the house. Adam is sitting in his highchair right now eating a teething biscuit that is shaped like a cigar. He hangs it out of his mouth like an old stogie and makes Ginger giggle, which makes him laugh and causes the cookie to go shooting out of his mouth onto the floor. This little game has gone on for awhile now and I can imagine the mess the floor is in"

(That made me think of this!)

(not a cookie, but it looks like a cigar nonetheless)

MARCH 30, 1979

"Ginger has a new game that she plays with my oven. She opens the door wide until it’s laying parallel with the floor. Then she lies down underneath it so that she is looking up through the glass in the oven door. I have to go over to the oven and look down through the glass at her and say, “My, my, I wonder what is cooking today?” Most of the time she says she is a turkey. What an imagination!!"

JUNE 21, 1979

"I had lots of fun with the kids today. They have such wonderful imaginations and no day is ever dull or boring. It’s great to be able to fight off dragons, go to the queen’s palace for tea and crumpets, fly to a far off planet, and all of this before lunchtime"

OCTOBER 17, 1979

"It was very cold and windy today. I had to go to Woolco, so I bundled up the kids and we took the bus. There was a lady sitting behind us on the bus and Adam was staring back at her and they were smiling at each other. He said hi to her and she said hi and then she gave his nose a tweak. Well, to the lady’s surprise and my horror, he reached over the seat and tried to tweak her right back. She was able to just barely duck out of his way in time. What am I going to do with that child??"

(Me again) I feel really blessed to be able to stay home with my children each day. To watch them grow, and develop into these little people. Really, is there a better job out there? Prove it.
